Dr. Philip A. Cunningham is a professor of Theology (specializing in Christian-Jewish relations) and the director of the Institute for Jewish-Catholic Relations of Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia.
He has served as president of the International Council of Christians and Jews and on the Advisory Committee on Catholic-Jewish Relations for the US Conference of Catholic Bishops.
He is the secretary-treasurer of the Council on Centers of Jewish-Christian Relations and the webmaster of its internet resource Dialogika.
Dr. Cunningham is the author of Maxims for Mutuality: Principles for Catholic Theology, Education, and Preaching about Jews and Judaism (New York/Mahwah: Paulist Press/Stimulus Book, 2022) and Seeking Shalom: The Journey to Right Relationship between Catholics and Jews (Grand Rapids, MI: Eerdmans, 2015), in addition to numerous co-edited volumes and articles.
